SCHOOL LEVY UP FOR VOTE ON VALENTINE’S DAY:
Show your “love” for our school and vote! A $3.7 million levy is up for vote on Feb. 14. If passed, Friday Harbor Elementary is slated to receive nearly 40% of the funding. These funds will go to a new roof, repair heating and cooling systems, replace siding, flooring and classroom fur- niture, repair fields & grounds, give everything a fresh coat of paint, get rid of the mold and mil- dew, and much, much more. FHES was built in 1986 and has had little to no building repairs or upgrades since: its time.

Here’s a quick, easy way to help out the PTA: We need parents to volunteer just a few hours to help us put together a slate of candidates for next year’s PTA Board. With four of our six current members “retiring” at the end of this school year, we would like YOUR input on who you think would make a great PTA Board Member. Self-nominations are welcome, so step forward if you’d like to be considered.

| Rachel’s Challenge Comes to Friday Harbor Feb 8 Inspired by a victim of the Columbine tragedy, a unique and well- respected anti-bullying program will make its debut at our schools in February. Assemblies will take place at the elementary and middle schools, with opportunities for parents to join in at an evening event at the high school. We encourage you to engage with your kids about the program and to attend the community event in the evening. This amazing event will debut on Feb 8th: mark your calendars! |
